Nightlights In Japan
Posted By yumado on January 4, 2010
Silhouettes out in the seas of darkness,
They dance to the quickened pace of my heart.
My eyes wide open,
Remaining at full alert.
As long as I lie hidden under my covers,
Appearing to be asleep,
Along with the scent of my saturated sheets,
The odds of my survival seem promising.
Creaks, thumps, and creatures of the night.
I remain here in fear,
They remain there in the dark.
Embracing my inevitable death,
I fall asleep.
Protected by the rays of the sun,
I awake to a new day,
Only to do this all over again tonight.
